sounds of simon

after more than seven years and 61 shows, our house concert series in colorado came to a close in the spring of 2019 as a result of our relocation. while bittersweet, this little project has grown to take on a life of its own - far exceeding our expectations. from the bottom of our hearts, thank you to all of the fans and musicians who were willing to experience live music in our living room. we hope you will cherish the memories and moments created for years to come. we certainly will.

We are psyched to welcome back NINA STOREY, a KBCO Studio C CD - Local's Edition alumnus, to the Sounds of Simon stage for what is sure to be another unforgettable evening.  On her latest album, Think Twice, NINA STOREY doesn't hold anything back. The soulful and sexy Los Angeles-via-Colorado chanteuse delivers honest and hypnotic songs steeped in classic soul-pop. Elegantly stripped, Nina is as powerful as she is provocative.

Produced by Chris Seefried (Counting Crows, Fitz and the Tantrums, Jay Nash, Haley Reinhart), the record has, in Storey’s own words, “the sensibility of an old-school soul record from the likes of Eartha Kitt, Diana Ross and the Ronettes with a modern, Bruno Mars pop edge.”

Nina has performed alongside the likes of Keb'Mo', Etta James, Sara Bareilles, Ani DiFranco, Sarah McLachlan, The Rescues, Shawn Colvin, DeVotchKa, and many more. She has also been featured on CNN Showbiz Today, MTV Online and Rolling She's had numerous film and television placements including The Broken Hearts Club: A Romantic Comedy and Stay Cool on the big screen, and Days of Our Lives, So You Think You Can Dance, Girlfriends, Ford Fiesta, Hyundai and many more on the small screen.  As People Magazine said, "with a voice like hers, pyrotechnics are redundant."
